My husband, Brad and I, live with our four boys in the Hucrest area of Roseburg. We spend a lot of our time with family activities, enjoying all that Douglas County has to offer.
Before becoming a stay-at-home mom about 15 years ago, I earned a degree from Umpqua Community College (UCC). Later I attended Eastern Oregon University for another year majoring in business administration, which gave me a solid background for my career in real estate.
Beside working to build my real estate business and taking care of a household, I volunteer with various groups in the community. This includes being part of the local preschool-co-op with all our boys, being active in local homeschool group (when I homeschooled our oldest for a few years) and being a long-time member of our local YMCA. We are also strong supporters of our local youth orchestra. Even with our busy lives, we always find time to spend time with our family and friends.
I don’t think there is any place better than Douglas County to do these things. The diversity of scenery, from the majestic mountains of the Cascades, which holds the only National Park in our state, to the Oregon Dunes National Recreational area and all the rivers and valleys that flow between, can’t be beat for an outdoor enthusiast like me. These provide the perfect backdrop for the things I like to do with the people important to me. Gardening, camping and just exploring affords wonderful opportunities to engage with my family, as do so many other things this community has to offer. Douglas County does not just have the great outdoors to offer; it provides a wholesome and peaceful place to raise a family or spend one’s retirement.
The most important thing I would like people to know about me is honesty is extremely important to me in every aspect of my life, which includes how I conduct my business. I believe honesty requires providing accurate and complete information to help people make the best decisions for themselves. After all, buying a home is one of the most important decisions most of us will make and I see helping people with this to be an important responsibility.
Why did I choose real estate?
Although real estate allows me the freedom and flexibility to be able to balance work and family (it can be a dream job for a stay at home mom, who is reentering the workforce), it is much more than that. It provides me the opportunity to do something valuable by helping people achieve their dream of finding a new home.
Buying a home is not just any old purchase. Home ownership not only provides security and stability to the home buyer, but also to the entire community. So, I believe that helping people find the home that is right for them is a very worthwhile thing to do; one I am honored to be doing.
